May I draw everyone's attention to an exciting new post which has been created for a Records Manager in the central offices of the University of London. The advertisement pasted below was expected to be printed in the next Career Opportunities; however, due to an unfortunate administrative mix-up this is not now going to happen. You will see that an interview date has been fixed for 11 October and we are anxious to keep to this time frame. Because the advertisement will not be appearing in the Society of Archivists' hard-copy format, this message to the list has become a very important vehicle for reaching potential applicants and I should like to ask you all to circulate it amongst colleagues as widely as possible. Many thanks. Judith Etherton UNIVERSITY OF LONDON Records Manager (ALC2) The University of London is implementing a records management system throughout its central administrative offices. In order to accomplish this it is seeking to recruit a Records Manager with proven experience. You should possess a post-graduate qualification in records management, with at least two years post-qualification experience in a relevant post(s), and be familiar with legislative requirements. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with staff at all levels are essential as is the ability to understand the needs for and deliver training in the new systems.
