Re: Lighthouse Records This may only be worth a footnote, but the archives of the British Video History Trust contain documentary material about the last stonemason working on British lighthouses. The BVHT has been going for many years, and exists to produce and archive video material of this sort - the last pie and mash shop in the East End, traditional hedging and ditching, etc. Its archives are held by the British Universities Film and Video Council in London - they can be contacted through their website at www.bufvc.ac.uk. Best wishes, Nick Hiley University of Kent at Canterbury. ----- Original Message ----- From: BAILEY, Steve <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Cc: HUNT, John <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 3:24 PM Subject: Lighthouse records > > Dear All, > > An academic colleague of mine is keen to trace the whereabouts of any > records relating to lighthouses around the coast of Great Britain to assist > in a potential research project. > > If anybody can help I would be grateful if they could let me know where they > can be found and if there are any access restrictions etc. > > Many thanks > > Steve Bailey > Senior Information Advisor > Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education > %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
