G'day listservers, Another longer term suggestion to the problems being discussed is for archivists to become active within the teaching of journalism courses. Just one night guest lecturer appearance as part of students exposure to broad issues in journalism is sufficient to raise our issues. After all, a research journalist must start by learning research skills and this inevitably involves archives. This approach allows us an opportunity to sell our worth to a captive audience, and arguably one of our more valuable (influential) customers. Catch them when they are young and not formed too many bad habits I say.
