The Institute of Ophthalmology and the Department of Statistical Science, University College London, are seeking to recruit an investigator in Medical Statistics with the aim, in the long term, that the appointee might direct a Division of Medical Statistics in the Institute. The Institute of Ophthalmology received a 5* rating in the last RAE and has a distinguished record of achievement and scholarship. Researchers will benefit from an extremely stimulating environment for clinical and academic research. An appointment will be made at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level epending on experience and track record ie. from £32,510 to £36,740 basic salary or £17,555 to £30,967 basic salary plus London Allowance of £2,134. Appointment at Lecturer level will be made for five years in the first instance with a review after three years. At Senior Lecturer level, appointment will be made on an open contract. The appointee will spend at least 50% of his/her time engaged in collaborative research at the Institute and in developing a personal research programme related to the development of statistical methodology.
