The Department teaches a wide range of units in econometrics, business statistics and operations research and has a strong Ph.D. program. Its staff have a commitment to quality and excellence in both teaching and research. Applicants should have good communication skills and the ability to teach at least to honours level, and to supervise honours and Masters students in their research, in an area of econometric theory, applied econometrics, business statistics or operations research. It is expected that a successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential for research, either through a Ph.D. or refereed publications in international journals, and the potential to successfully apply for outside research grants. The Department teaches a wide range of units in econometrics, business statistics and operations research and has a strong Ph.D. program. Applicants should have interests in any area of econometric theory, applied econometrics, business statistics or operations research. The appointee will be required to conduct tutorials, mark essays and assignments, be available for student consultations, assist in preparation of teaching material, give some lectures if required, and participate in research. Honours degree in econometrics or operations research or equivalent and ability to tutor at third year level required. Part-time higher degree studies will be encouraged.
