LECTURER
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMETRICS AND BUSINESS STATISTICS

Applications are sought for up to two continuing positions of Lecturer
in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, on the
Clayton campus.  The Department teaches a wide range of units in
econometrics, business statistics and operations research and has a
strong Ph.D. program.  Its staff have a commitment to quality and
excellence in both teaching and research.

Applicants should have good communication skills and the ability to
teach at least to honours level, and to supervise honours and Masters
students in their research, in an area of econometric theory, applied
econometrics, business statistics or operations research.  It is
expected that a successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential
for research, either through a Ph.D. or refereed publications in
international journals, and the potential to successfully apply for
outside research grants.

Preferred starting date:  February 2001.  
Salary:  $49,366-$58,623, according to qualifications and previous
experience.

ASSISTANT LECTURER
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMETRICS AND BUSINESS STATISTICS

Applications are sought for up to two continuing positions of Assistant
Lecturer in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, on
the Clayton campus.  The Department teaches a wide range of units in
econometrics, business statistics and operations research and has a
strong Ph.D. program.  Its staff have a commitment to quality and
excellence in both teaching and research.

Applicants should have interests in any area of econometric theory,
applied econometrics, business statistics or operations research.  The
appointee will be required to conduct tutorials, mark essays and
assignments, be available for student consultations, assist in
preparation of teaching material, give some lectures if required, and
participate in research.  Honours degree in econometrics or operations
research or equivalent and ability to tutor at third year level
required.  Part-time higher degree studies will be encouraged.  A
fractional appointment greater than 0.5 will be considered.

Preferred starting date:  February 2001.  
Salary:  $33,880-$45,978, according to qualifications and previous
tutoring experience.
