Apologies for cross postings, but I thought people in the UK would like to
see this. Please reply to David Canham, not me.

Subject: User consultation: National Statistics on Health and Care

To members of the Health Statistics Users' Group,

I am writing to introduce myself as secretary of the National Statistics
Health and Care Theme Working Group and to inform you that the Theme
Working Group has drawn up a draft workplan for health and care statistics
from 2001/2-2003/4. In order to ensure that future health and care
statistics meet users' needs a consultation exercise is now underway. The
Theme Working Group would particularly welcome your comments.

The consultation document is available on the National Statistics Website -
www.statistics.gov.uk (click on 'themes' then 'health and care' then 'your
views') and there is an e-mail comment facility to feed comments in to the
workplan editor - [log in to unmask] The deadline for comments in
17th November.

Additionally, in the same 'your views' area of the Website there is a
registration facility which you may like to complete. This will ensure
that you are notified automatically when future consultation documents
about the Health and Care theme are placed onto the Website. If you wish,
you may also choose to receive news about National Statistics products and
services.

Please let me know if you have any questions on the above.

Yours,

David Canham
