AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES CENTRE FOR MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS PROFESSOR/SENIOR FELLOW (LEVEL E/D) IN STATISTICAL SCIENCE with interests in Bioinformatics or Biostatistics Applications are invited for one, 3 year fixed term, Level E or Level D appointment in Statistical Sciences in the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications (CMA), Institute component of the School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS). The CMA is primarily a research institute in the mathematical sciences; as such it fills both a national and international role. The appointee will conduct research and graduate training in statistical science, and provide research leadership and management, with particular emphasis on bioinformatics or biostatistics. The position will be located in the Statistical Science program of the CMA, where current research interests include applied statistics, bioinformatics, statistical genetics, biostatistics, epidemiology, survival analysis, bootstrap methods, curve estimation, spatial statistics, data mining and robust statistical inference. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated international record of exceptional research achievement, training and grant success in statistical science, and have demonstrable interests in bioinformatics or biostatistics. The appointee will have the opportunity to participate in new initiatives in bioinformatics in the university. The duties of the appointee will be predominantly in research, and training of graduates and undergraduates, and in management and administration connected with those roles.
