Dear Colleagues I would be grateful for information on other institutions' policies with regard to the following: (1) Proof of competence in English from non-native speaker EU citizens: our School of Law maintains that under EU law we are not permitted to request this, as we don't make a similar requirement of native speakers: do any other institutions hold this view? (2) Proof of funding: do any institutions make offers conditional on receiving a guarantee (in the form of a bank statement or other statement) of funding? If so, do you refuse to make the offer conditional if the guarantee has not been received but all academic conditions have been fulfilled? I am grateful for your help.
