Hi

At Teesside we used to have an Equal Opps Committee but this has now come to
an end. However, we have recently formed an Equal Opps Forum which has met
only once and its purpose is to review Equal Opps in the University, using
the performance indicators in "Higher Education & Equality: A Guide". We
hope to put together an Action Plan, to be approved by the Corporate
Management Committee/Vice-Chancellor's Executive and to be implemented in
the near future. Following this, we intend to review Equal Opps on a
rolling process, about every 2 years.

There's a lot of work to do yet but hopefully we will achieve our objectives
and gain ownership from the top.

cttee.
This means we make recommendations to him for approval. I chair it (head of
Personnel). He attends occasionally.
