I repost, with permission, this for your amusement and comment. It was originally posted by a US lawyer to a specialist criminal law list where I am privileged to be tolerated as a member. The poster was seeking comments.

"A colleague of mine had a case where his probation had an abortion, and the very next day tested positive for amphetamines.  The clinic wrote a letter with the following punchline:

"According to CRNA, Methergine (stimulant) and Pitocin (stimulant) are drugs that will stimulate the nervous system.  It may be possible for a patient to test positive for amphetamines." "

Under what circumstances could any health care professional with two neurons to rub together to form a marginal approximation of a synapse write such a letter? It displays such ignorance of basic pharmacology, chemistry and drug screening that even a nurse with an MBA could do better.

I'll prepare a summary of any useful or particularly amusing comments you lot make for the delection of the other list.
