You will provide management and leadership to a team of educational developers, will have oversight of and contribute to courses for new lecturers and established academic staff. You will be expected to maintain constructive links with national educational developments, in order to build on the University's leading position in relation to current learning and teaching agendas. A wide understanding of educational development theory and its application in HE are expected, as is an outstanding teaching record, and an awareness of current educational research. You will be expected to stimulate C&IT innovation and support those involved with emerging initiatives at a curriculum development level, for example by delivering our existing postgraduate courses and contributing to the course for new lecturers. Other activities will include support for individuals, departments and projects, and working with the Learning Support Advisors. Although a knowledge of and affinity with the use of learning technologies is expected, an awareness of pedagogy in HE along with teaching skills are more important than specific technical expertise.
