I want to add a small point to Lubomir's excellent review of lists. The phd list is quite research oriented, to my mind. But/And I am very interested in how it may evolve over time. The idea of sustained discussion of specific issues is important. I don't know how this can or will occur on this list--maybe Ken's gentle encouragement of header/topic discipline will gradually serve us when we sort out some of key themes.
