Hi all I was once advised that collections should be 'permanently loaned' rather than given. I asked why and was told that then they can't be disposed of as they're not the property of the receiving body. How this would work in practice with every mounting collections I don't know. Depends on how you view the importance of your collection. But then we may not get collections broken up for auction or being skip fodder.
