It would be good to see some entries from the NW.

Subject: L2,500 to be won

The Cochrane HLG Prize has L2,500 to give to the library supporting the winning entry in this year's competition. Winning entries should describe how the use of evidence significantly enhanced patient care.

But hurry! The closing date is the end of August. If you haven't got entry forms, reply to this message with your snail-mail address and I will send some. Or visit the LA website and download a PDF version from http://www.la-hq.org.uk/groups/hlg/cochrane.html

All you need to do is bully a clinician into entering. The incentive for them is another L2,500!

Winners of the first two awards were a midwife who successfully introduced a new, much less painful, method of perineal repair and a clinical audit facilitator who changed hospital practice over thromoembolism prophylaxis. The library prizes were awarded to Portsmouth NHS Trust libraries and Glasgow Royal Infirmary Library.
