2. Book review news:

Each book published by the Geological Society is sent out to appropriate
journals for review. Review comments are often helpful when deciding to
purchase a book so we have added a selection of recent reviews that we have
to the bookshop.

For example, a review recently recently received for Fossil Plants and
Spores: Modern Techniques. By T. P. Jones and N. P. Rowe. 1999. ISBN
1-86239-041-X:
'This book is an outstanding achievement. It contains a wealth of well
assembled and well documented information in just 396 pages. Most chapters
are little masterpieces...This book is a laboratory resource book and and a
handbook on methods but at the same time it is much more...This book will be
a classic that everyone in the field and in neighbouring fields will need to
own'. Historical Biology, Vol 14, 2000.

There are many other reviews so I hope this helps. Please also note that the
Review facility does allow you to submit your own comments on our
publications!
Also, my new e-mail address is now: [log in to unmask] The old
