Hi all Winteractor or Interactor from ISS will provide both the GUI and (more importantly perhaps) the plots. If you are committed to Wintel, use Winteractor. If you want platform independence take the extra time to learn Interactor - its graphing is based on Calcomp-like routines which means that the code can be recompiled for many platforms. The two (three?) person operation of ISS is run by a cluey English guy named Wakefield. ISS have a long-standing cooperation with Lahey - although using that compiler is not essential. I have not used mainframes in anger since the 70's - so it would be silly of me to try to offer detailed advice. Hope the general info is of some help. You should look at Winteracter. It works with Compaq V F. Details at http://www.demon.co.uk/issltd/ I've no direct experience of it though. > Also I'll need to generate XY plots. We use IBM GDDM and ADMCHART on the mainframe. You could try the AVS/UNIRAS (www.avs.com) Fortran interface to AGX libraries or something like Bradley's GINO (http://www.bradassoc.co.uk/). There are many more libraries out there but these are two I've had some experience of. I doubt that you'll find a direct mapping though. Hope this helps, Steve Morgan. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. J. S.
