Subject: Prize announcement
The History of Education Society awards a prize of $500 biennially for the
best article in the history of education, broadly defined to include work on
schools, students, teachers, higher education, families, and a wide range of
cultural and educational institutions. The next award will be presented at
the 2000 meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Articles published in refereed
journals during 1998 and 1999 only (no book chapters) are eligible. Self
nominations are also welcome. The deadline for entries is April 1, 2000.
Entrants should send six copies of the article to the chair of the Prize
Committee:
