Subject: FW: New Distance Course on Residence Abroad
Dear Colleague,
As part of the Residence Abroad Project, based at the University of
Portsmouth, we are launching a new Staff Development Course on Residence
Abroad. This innovatory course will be offered in the distance mode to
any Year Abroad Co-ordinator (or similar) in any British University from
February 2000. All aspects of the course will be taught over the
internet using WebCT. The module is part of a new MA in Teaching and
Learning, and the 10 M-level credits should be fully transferable to any
other HEI. This new course has been validated by the University of
Portsmouth and accredited by the new Institute for Teaching and Learning
(subject to formal ratification).
The first course will be offered free of charge and will run from
February to June 2000.
Further details and applications forms are available from: The Residence
Abroad Project Office, University of Portsmouth, Park Building, King
Henry 1 St, Portsmouth, PO1 2DZ, UK or e-mail
