Perhaps I have no right to venture an opinion as I am an MFL LEA adviser
rather than somebody in higher education.
1) Do we normally have 500 UK nationals as assistants in Germany - this seems
rather high to me- what are the comparable figures for France?
2) Has there been an increase in demand from Germany rather than a decrease in
takeup?
3) There has been a reduction in the totals following A level courses in MFl
since 1988 - in all languages, wouldn't this be reflected in the continuation
into Higher Education?

MFL adviser for NW Wales
