As I am conducting sensitive research in a hospital setting this issue is
particularly pertinent. I definitely would not allow other researchers
access to my data for secondary analysis purposes. An interesting point is
that when we fill in requests for further details of products advertised in
the media, these articles usually state that our details may be passed to
other bodies offering similar products unless we tick a box indicating
otherwise. Could a standardised consent form be used in research with a
similar tick box regarding availablility of data for secondary analysis
perhaps? Just a thought!
