not the only source of acceptable evidence . Ironically , perhaps Ellis and
Adams(1997) argue that the increasing emphais placed on controlled trials is
akin to a cult in itself, whereby other sources of information are
frequently belittled or totally ignored . They contend that a good single
case study can often give more insight into the managment of a condtion than
a large trial.'
I believe this is especially relevant in neuromuscular problems where the
basic pathophysiology is far from clear let alone accepted methods of
intervention.
