Dear all,
Information about this fund is available on the internet at
www.nof-digitise.org.
The New Opportunities Fund is a new Lottery distributor created in 1998.
Its digitisation of learning materials programme is a one-off project that
was launched in August. Is is part of a wider ICT initiative and aims to
support the provision of electronic resources for the National Grid for
Learning and the New Library Network. The programme is aimed at those
outside formal education (life long learners) and funding is available for
projects which complement, rather than meet specific course needs of, the
National Curriculum. Projects must be for the public good and delivered
free of charge to users of the New Library Network & National Grid for
Learning.
An award from another Lottery distributor would not prevent a project from
receiving NOF funding.
SMRs could apply to the NOF, perhaps as part of a consortium, but would have
to be quick as applications must be submitted by 31 January 2000.
