EUROCALL 2000 - CALL FOR PAPERS
EUROCALL 2000 will be held on 31 August to 2 September 2000 at the
University of Abertay Dundee, Scotland.
Keynote Speakers: Stephen Heppell, Ron Cole, Ray Kurzweil, Carol
Chapelle.
The Conference main theme and title is:
Innovative Language Learning in the Third Millennium
Sub-themes:
* Networks for Lifelong Learning
* Interdisciplinarity
* Intelligent Feedback
In the selection process, preference will be given to submissions for
Papers, Show & Tell Demonstrations and Posters (please specify)
related to at least one of the following areas:
1) Use of networks (including the WWW) for innovative and
interactive language teaching and learning.
2) Learner Evaluation of Computer Assisted and Web Enhanced Language
Learning.
3) Learner strategies and CALL.
4) Network-orientated authoring developments (including Web
authoring).
5) Improvements and enhancements in feedback quality and mechanisms
in CALL.
6) Speech Technology in CALL.
7) Natural (Written) Language Processing/Human Language Technologies
and CALL.
8) Translation (and Interpreting) in CALL.
9) CALL and Second Language Acquisition.
10) Computer-Assisted Language Testing.
11) CAL meets CALL: Interdisciplinarity and Languages for Specific
Purposes in CALL.
12) CALL in Celtic Languages.
Submissions of 200 words (minimum) to 400 words (maximum) should be
sent before 31 January 2000 to the following address, preferably by

Please note that EUROCALL conferences are usually over-subscribed and
it is highly unlikely that submissions received after the above
deadline will be considered. All submissions will be acknowledged by
e-mail.
Submissions will be refereed on a double blind basis using a
criterion-referencing system, details of which can be found at the
conference website: http://dbs.tay.ac.uk/eurocall2000/
Successful applicants will be notified by 31 March 2000.
Submissions can also be made for Pre-Conference Events (Seminars and
Workshops). These should be addressed to the Conference Organiser.
