CONVERTING A TRADITIONAL COURSE TO OPEN LEARNING:
FACING UP TO THE ISSUES & AVOIDING THE PITFALLS
A one-day workshop from ALT
Hosted by Oxford Brookes University
Tuesday 19 October 1999
1000-1630
Booking deadline: Tuesday 12 October 1999
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop was first held in Sheffield in 1998 and returns by
popular demand. Participants will be taken through the process of
converting traditional courses to distance/open learning. They will
discuss the many potential pitfalls and how to avoid them through
discussion of a case study. A methodology for course conversion will
be introduced and participants will make a start in writing open
learning material. They will leave the workshop with a checklist of
handy tips and hints to aid the course developer.
