Several people reported problems running QuadPack
and the Arfima package under the Debian version of Linux.
Both quadpack.so and arfima.so for Linux are compiled using
f2c, and require libf2c.so.0 to run. However, the Debian/Linux
version of f2c contains libf2c.so.2. The solution is as follows:
login as root, and create libf2c.so.0 as a symbolic link to
libf2c.so.2 in the /usr/lib directory:
ln -s libf2c.so.2 libf2c.so.0
Under the current stable distribution of Debian, this was found to
solve the problem.
Note that problems like this can be solved by using the ldd
command, as is suggested in readunix.txt.
