Since you're looking for a paper idea, here's a thought. St. John's Apocalypse
has been understood and explained in many, many ways by many different interpreters
over the years. Perhaps you might examine the hermeneutics of some medieval
theologian or commentator. For example, how did Nicholas of Lyra approach the Book of
Revelation? Lyra was a widely read commentator, and it's my impression that he was
very influential.
