BOPCRIS: British Official Publications Collaborative
Reader Information Service (for key 19th and 20th
Century British Government and Parliamentary publications)
invites applications for the nine Part-time Project
Officer (Content Analyst) posts, one based the Official
Publications collections at each of the following
institutions:
The British Library of Political and Economic Science, London
Cambridge University
Edinburgh University
Glasgow University
University of Leeds
University of London Library
Queens' University Belfast
University of Southampton
University of Wales Aberystwyth
BOPCRIS is part of the Research Support Libraries Programme
(RSLP, see http://www.rslp.ac.uk) and will provide a Web
database with details of around 15,000 key British Official
Publications, 1833 - 1983. You will be involved with:
summarising and subject index key 19th and 20th Century
British Government and Parliamentary publications; assisting
with quality control of database records and compiling a
national directory of British Official Publications collection
strengths.
Each post is offered for 17.5 hours per week for two years
starting in December 1999. The salary scale will be the
first four points of Research Assistant Grade 1A scale:
£16,286 - £18,915 p.a. pro rata for part-time. The pattern
of hours is negotiable: candidates are asked to indicate their
preferred pattern and any particular constraints when they
apply.
