Three new reports
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Survey of secondary school library users
The findings of this report will be of interest to school
librarians and teacher-librarians who are developing services, and
to all secondary school managers who want their school library to
contribute more to the teaching/learning process. Issues
investigated were: access to the library; library services used,
and frequency of use; use related to the school curriculum;
reading for pleasure; success in finding books and information;
use of automated information sources; the role of library staff,
including induction training; use of school and public libraries,
and books in the home.
2. Average prices of British academic books: January to June 1999
The report continues the statistics of British academic book
prices derived from the Blackwell's (UK) primary subject coverage
database, which began with a base of July to December 1984.
3. Average prices of USA academic books: January to June 1999
The report uses data supplied by Blackwell's (NA) from their
primary subject coverage database and provides statistics on the
average price of USA academic books.
