Dear Jo
Erich Kaestner Emil und die Detekive
Is base around Berlin. A long time since I read the text and so I am not
too sure as to period.
I am away from home and therefore my library as well as a scientist and my
reading of literature may not centre on the same sort of details. However,
reading depending on why Victoria wishes this back-ground information why
not some of the Biographical information. Again it is a long time since I
have read the text but I refer you to Werner Heisenberg's Autobiography
which pre-war including 1920's and I think includes Berlin as well as
Muenchen. Although I can see the book in my mind I am not sure if this is a
RoRoRo book or not. However, there are also photos in there of various
areas of Pre-war Germany.
Hope that helps.
Peter.
