Dear colleagues
In case anyone else needs to find out about the Economic
Commission for Europe, the web site for standards is at
http://www.unece.org/leginstr/cover.htm
Documents are supposed to be available from the Stationery
Office or BSI (for subscribers) but can be obtained direct
from ECE
tel.00-41-229-172-786 fax 00-41-229-170027
I have been told they are gradually being phased out and
replaced by EC directives. These are two of the original
messages:
These are United Nations - Economic Commission for Europe
- Motor Vehicle > Regulations. They are sales items, about
US$20 each. Problem is they have > updates - see the .03 to
r44 - and the updates are not sold separately, one > has to
buy the original again plus the update.
> > I have had a struggle with a similar reference in the
past. > The following may help.
> > Go to the ECE homepage and click on Transport. This
takes > you to the Transport Division homepage. Here, select
> Regulations on the Construction of Vehicles and then
click > on WP29 1958 Agreement and its Addenda. You then
get a > listing of all the regulations resulting from that
> agreement. The numbers don't match your references
exactly, > but Reg 44 is about children's car seats which
suggests > this is probably what you are after.
Thanks to everyone who has helped on this one - I hope the
information helps someone else!
