Yep Judy, 'Clumsy and Tactless' works for me.
I am not at all sure that 'the hysteria surround[s] Singer' so much as the
eugenic assumptions that are not only 'out there', but which can be so
boldly espoused.
I am sure that Singer is a thoroughly nice and awfully intelligent chap (no,
you're right, I'm being sarcastic), but some us have had the misfortune of
reading his work and entirely understand why he engenders so much hostility.
Is it somehow more acceptable to promulgate views that are so repugnant to
many people than to react against them?
You are right - Singer is accused of much that is inaccurate, but what he
does say is more than enough for many. Could you respond in a way that
appears a little less judgemental on those of us who have genuine, albeit
passionate, views?
