Dear colleagues
This is a follow up to an earlier message posted to the list
regarding Dialog's CIP for introducing students to "live" searching.
So far I have heard from four institutions - Liverpool, Dublin,
Aberystwyth and Belfast - where there is apparently no change
in the provision of service. Meanwhile, QMUC in Edinburgh has
been told that the service has been withdrawn from UK universities.
(Although I no longer work at QMUC I am following this up for my
successor and because of my UKOLUG interests. My departure and the
request to change the name on the account led to Dialog's pronouncement
on the service no longer being offered.)
I'd be pleased to hear from colleagues in the other library
schools so that I have an overview of the provision of the service.
I will assume that it's business as usual
(i.e. there still is access under the CIP) at any institutions
that don't reply since this seems to be the norm.
