Hello, I'm a third year physio student currently doing ortho, and have been
wondering if CDH/CHD/DDH..etc! is actually diagnosed in neonates as often
as it occurs, and whether there might be degrees so that a more "subtle"
disorder (e.g. instability of the hip because of lax ligaments,or a muscle
imbalance) might not be detected.I have a rather special interest in this
as I am actually able to slide my femoral head out of the acetabulum
bilat. (though I've stopped since I discovered I could predispose my hips
to OA!),but have had no problems yet except vague pain on WB for long
periods.Would it not be beneficial to examine the baby(FABER test, etc) and
do an X-ray,if the condition is worrying?Any interesting info on my
condition as well would be welcome.
