I am looking for material about Kipling's story "With the
night mail" as I am particularly interested in the
"apparatus" of adverts, "editorial matter" and reviews
as from the year 2000 in which the story is set. Does
anyone know anything about the writing of the
story or the circumstances of its original publication in
McLure's (1905)?
I know of the article by Fred Lerner on the Kipling
Society website but can anyone recommend further reading
(by Kipling scholars rather than specifically science
fiction critics) on "Night mail" and its sequel "As easy as
ABC"?
thanks
