The Longman list of sulphuric acid plants is taken from a list produced
by a Mr. McTear and comes from a paper he gave in Glasgow in the 1880s.
I ahve analysed the London people on the list and have a lot of detail
aboutthem all. Earlier sulphuric acid manufcture is largely concerned
with the copperas industry - as chance has it I have just come back
froma conference where this was discussed. I can't give lists of
copperas sites but I could probably put you in touch with someone who
knows about them. Theindustry spread from Kent from 1570s on.
