In a follow up to an event organised last year, speakers from the Electronic
Libraries Programme (eLib) Hybrid Libraries and Large Scale Resource
Discovery ('Clumps') areas will be talking about issues of key importance to
all libraries and information units. The event will focus once again on
their use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology). Whilst the
eLib programme is a Higher Education funded initiative, the issues under
discussion have a much wider application.
The Hybrid Libraries area of Phase 3 of eLib was set up investigate the
bringing together of electronic, digital and virtual libraries with current
electronic products and services in libraries/information units and local,
physical collections of
resources.
Clumps are defined as groups of metadata resources which can be searched
together to facilitate discovery. Further information about the concept of
