The Canadian National Site Licensing Project (CNSLP) is a national
initiative comprising, at present, 64 Canadian universities. Its
aim is to increase dramatically the quantity, breadth and depth of
the most current research literature available to Canadian academic
researchers and to provide expanded and equitable access to that
content through electronic formats and network access / delivery
mechanisms. The Steering Committee has an immediate opening for a
dynamic individual to identify, negotiate, execute and administer
national site licences.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Reporting to the Steering Committee, you will be responsible for the
investigation, selection recommendation, negotiation, implementation
and administration of national site licences. The financial, legal
and contract management of the above also fall within your domain. In
addition, you will provide recommendations, consultation and feedback
on policy and operational issues to all project participants.
Your qualifications include a familiarity with the Canadian academic
research library environment and a comprehensive knowledge of trends
in information technology delivery, including emerging standards and
practices.
A Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent experience is
preferred. You have experience in project management, ideally related
to commercial publishing, including electronic information resources
(journals, databases, etc.). Experience with regional, national or
international multi-institutional cooperative ventures among research
libraries, higher education institutions or others would be an
advantage. You demonstrate strong negotiation, leadership and
interpersonal skills. Bilingualism is an asset [French and English].
We offer a three-year contract with possibility of renewal. The
salary minimum is $80,000 per year, commensurate with you
