On the day that the bbc launches another free ISP service, the market is
becoming crowded.
Difficult to compete on price so ISPs offer 'better' services.
I use Lineone to connect (BT is good fast and reliable), bigwig because I
want to use FrontPage2000. Both charge for telephone tech support
A new free service F9 is now available from Yorkshire tv which is, to my
knowledge the best option for teachers:
* Free telephone technical support
* Ability to browse email via the web and leave it on the server
* Free FrontPage 2000 extensions - only uk isp I know who does this, but no
tech support
* Sign up online and choose the manual setting to avoid having your system
settings trahsed a la freeserve :-)
* Pre written cgi scripts - for techies
* All newsgroups available (not so with Lineone)
Of course if you are happy with your current provider the 'if it ain't broke
do not fix it'
See http://www.f9.net.uk for details
