Subject: Funding Guide on the web

Dear All,
We would like to inform you that the Guide to Funding and Participation
in European
Union Programs for NGOs in Central and Eastern Europe and the Newly
Independent States, prepared by OSI-Brussels, is available on the
OSI-Budapest website: http://www.osi.hu/brussels/.
We intend to update the guide regularly and welcome your comments and
suggestions.
Please share this guide with your grantees and other non-governmental
organisations in your country.
We urge you to consult OSI-Brussels if you intend to apply for any of
the
EU programs described in the guide. There is only a limited amount of
funding available under these programs and the competition for EU
funding
is enormous. If thirty Soros foundations and the network programs apply
for
the same program it is likely to create problems. (Given the
'well-funded'
image of the Soros foundations, it is unrealistic to think that the
Soros
foundations themselves can apply for considerable levels of EU funding.)
We
would be more than willing to look at your proposals, and advise you on
whether they meet the criteria. An inappropriate application from one
Soros
foundation could have negative repercussions for the whole network.
Best regards,
OSI-Brussels
