I have had talks captioned and the accuracy was variable. When I was
allowed time with the captioner ahead of time, provided terms of art, key
phrases, spelling etc. I found that the resulting transcript was usually
pretty accurate. When that didn't happen ahead of time, the results were
not as good. If the transcription were going to be used as the official
record of the procedings, then the transcribers should have that kind of
thing ahead of time, or there should be a provision to edit the transcripts
before they are distributed.
