Now that we've commenced the preliminaries with a number of suggestions put
forward on how to move forward, can I ask members of this working group who
represent each of the various projects to complete the following task. If
this WG is going to work then we will need to set ourselves deadlines. Can I
suggest that this task be completed by September 16th? (Please):
Post summaries in the format similar to that suggested by Renato for the
Creator/Contributor/Publisher qualifiers. The only variation I would
suggest is that the DC elements that have educational qualifiers are listed
first & then each of the specific schema elements second. That is, for
example:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------
Name: EdNA
Usage: Supported by all (State & Federal) Ministers of Education & Training
Reference: http://www.edna.edu.au/metadata
Version: 1998-08-31 (1.01)
NOTE: EdNA has to date only adopted non-qualified Dublin Core syntax as its
basis for definition.
Qualification is thus handled through multiple element instances with
different values.
In some cases, a controlled value-vocabulary is applied. For example:
<META NAME="DC.Coverage" CONTENT="1998-04-22 - 1998-04-24">
<META NAME="DC.Coverage" CONTENT="WA - Western Australia">
---------------Qualifiers------------------------------------

To start, I think a very simple summary of the above
projects would suffice. For example, a summary like
the one we did under the DC Agents WG:
