Hi Forum,

here is another.
I can remember that we critical geographers are angry but cannot quite
recall why this is. I know there is some kind of critique that I am
undertaking but have forgotten both what it is or what it is even about.
There is a very real danger that those of us recently educated in
geography departments across the world (mostly UK and US though) have
just simply absorbed contemporary, and thus critical, notions of what
research is, how to do research, what research is for etc. The paradigm
shift (correct term?) that has taken place in geography has resulted in
a new generation of angry geogrrrrraphers who are simply angry - about,
whatever.... No doubt those that inspired me to take up these positions
*do* maintain them passionately, and I would like to think that I do,
but, as I keep saying, I know where I am, its just that, urghh, I cannot
remember why (again). We (and admittedly I perhaps speak for only
myself) are no better than those we ridicule - whoever they are and
whatever they do. Any ideas ?
Am I a better person just because I graduated last year rather than 25
years ago ? It certainly doesn't show much imagination, does it ?
Cheers
Dan
