Keep your skills up. The police are continually scrutinised and with all
these things, someone will inevitably try and cause trouble the first
time that an intubation is missed or a cannula "tissues".
Having actually had the unpleasant experience of being shot at whilst
rendering aid to a hapless patient, I am very pleased to hear that you
and your band of merry men are willing to provide services whilst the
rest of us are safely some distance away.
Doubtless there are those who think that patients should be left in a
"tactically isolated" state ie. left until the area is safe. Others may
argue that medical services should be provided by paramedics from the
ambulance services or by doctors, but certainly not by policemen. To
such brave souls I say.... "be my guest!"
