Try FES - it works whether or not he can co-operate. It will build up the
muscle bulk to a point where he may then be able to take over active
exercise. I have done it for quadriceps to a point where walking with
criutches was enabled. Look at Christopher Reeves!
I currently use a MULTI TEMS small portable unit - easy to use.
