^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
When? 11 September 1999
Are you planning to work with qualitative data?
Are you already trying to get a handle on qualitative analysis?
Are you interested in computer methods that might help your
qualitative analysis?
This one day seminar on Nud•ist might be for you!
QSR Nud•ist stands for Non-numerical Unstructured Data: Indexing, Searching
and Theorizing. It is the foremost computer program for non numerical data
and has thousands of users all over the world. It also has an active
discussion list, texts written on it, a quickly growing list of
publications and citations and a committed user support network.
QSR Nud•ist is also one of the few programs that runs on MACs and PC with
identical interfaces.
In June we are offering a full day of training in QSR Nud•ist. The course
will:
* enable the beginner to understand what Nudist can offer the qualitative
researcher
* refresh the basic concepts and techniques of the analysis of qualitative
research.
* deal with ways of approaching the analysis of qualitative data
* demonstrate how Nudist can be used to manage and interrogate qualitative
data
* enable students to be proficient enough to interrogate either their own
data or some provided sample data
* introduce the Nudist tutorial
* teach how to introduce documents into Nudist
* develop an understanding of the nature, organisation, creation and
editing of nodes
* teach how to code text in Nudist
* teach students to use the search facilities of Nudist
* demonstrate how Nudist can assist self reflection and self awareness within
the analysis through memos that are incorporated within the coding
system.
The course will be offered on Pentium II machines running NT which will
provide speedy responses and allow the software to perform to its advantage.
