Infologistix Law Librarians European Visit '99
supported by the CLLG
13 - 15th October 1999
Do you understand the structure and roles of the various EU institutions ?
Do you know where to start looking for European Information issued by the
European Parliament or the Commission?
How do you deal with the vast amounts of information produced by the bodies
of European Union ?
Don't know or want to increase your knowledge about the EU ?
Then join this organised trip which aims to do just that.
Leaving London Waterloo on the morning of 13th October, there are 3 days of
intensive fact finding in the heart of Europe - Brussels and Luxembourg.
The afternoon of Wednesday 13th is spent in Brussels introducing the various
institutions and how they work together.
Thursday 14th is a day in Luxembourg at the Court of Justice and the Office
of Offical Publications.
Friday 15th we will once again be in Brussels for a series of discussions
from Commission Officials about their roles and how information about their
work becomes available to the general public.
This is an organised trip aimed specifically at Law Librarians wanting to
gain first hand knowledge about Europe and increase the productivity of
their research work on European Issues. Anyone with an interest in this
field though is welcome to join us.
There are only 20 places so allocation is on a first-come first-served basis.
Prices start from 445 pounds sterling per person + VAT and is all inclusive
- all fares, accommodation and meals in a 4 star hotel
