Organised by: CTI Law Technology Centre, University of Warwick
Venue: The TechnoCentre, Coventry University Technology Park,

http://www.law.warwick.ac.uk/seminars/sem99-1.html
Most academics are now aware of the many benefits of using
conferencing in their teaching, such as the sharing of ideas and
resources, the facilitation of collaborative and distance learning and
the development of negotiation and communication skills, but few
are really getting the most effective use out of the conferencing
technology.
This seminar will examine synchronous and asynchronous
conferencing systems, including the advantages and disadvantages
of using video-conferencing, in a bid to demonstrate some of the
possibilities for conferencing within law teaching. The programme
includes live video links and demonstrations of different systems
using state of the art facilites at the TechnoCentre.
Specifically the seminar will cover:
- Advantages vs disadvantages of different systems
- The equipment and tools needed and how to get the best use
from them
- Pedagogical issues
- Law specific case studies
Speakers include:
Danny Bell, De Montfort University Leicester talking about what
works and what doesn't in videoconferencing followed by a live
link to Martin Taylor, from the Law School at De Montfort.
