Dear Elmar , as far as I am informed the phenomenon of "verlan" does not
exist in Italian. The corresponding Italian phenomenon is the playing with
different language levels, dialects, foreign elements and hispanisms. Or, in
other words, the playing with the "Questione della lingua". Anyway , I have
asked Italian native speakers (italianists) via e-mail and I'm curious to
read their answers. I'll inform you immediately.
