Dear colleagues,
together with another Italianist, I have been asked to write a
chapter for a volume on the pros and cons of target language teaching
in Modern Languages degrees (that is using the target language not
only in language classes, but also in literature / history / culture/
'area studies' /... courses).
I would be grateful for any opinions/experiences colleagues might
have on the subject of target language teaching in general and, in
particular, on whether Italian (a 'minoriry language', often studied
ab initio at university, etc.) poses particular problems and/or
offers particular opportunities.
Thanks in advance
