VACANCY IN THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS GROUP

The Information Systems Group within Bournemouth University Business School
is a team of 13 with a range of interests across the IS field. The Group
focuses on the effective exploitation of Information Systems and
Technologies by organisations, whether in industry, commerce, or the public
sector. There is therefore a strong business emphasis across all
activities. Teaching by members of the team includes undergraduate,
post-graduate, and post-experience programmes, to UK and international
students. Areas of research interest include IT strategy, project
management, systems design, and decision support.

The Business School places emphasis on the continuing personal development
of its staff and an interest in further study, for example MPhil/PhD
research, would be encouraged and supported financially.

Bournemouth University is emphatically a vocational university, with a
reputation for innovation and enterprise in its evolving range of
undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The aim of these courses is not
only to provide the education, knowledge and skills relevant to the subject
matter, but also to instil in students qualities of professionalism and
enterprise which will lead to a successful career in whatever field they
subsequently choose. The Business School in general, and the IS-oriented
courses in particular, have an outstanding record of success in students
finding employment after their studies.

The University itself has an enviable location on the South Coast of
England, adjacent to the Dorset coastline and countryside and the New
Forest.
